In this reading in jazz will be honored the figure of the famous musician and composer who, after having played in the orchestras of Duke Ellington and Cab Calloway in the ’40s, along with Charlie Parker, Max Roach, Bud Powell, Thelonious Monk, was the leader of the first real revolution in jazz: the be-bop, which marked the beginning of contemporary jazz and is still one of the top creative genre. Gillespie was also involved in to defending the rights of American blacks.
